Impactos sociais e econômicos das lesões por pressão em unidades de terapia intensiva: uma análise narrativa

Abstract

Introdução: Este estudo apresenta uma revisão narrativa abrangente focada nos impactos sociais e econômicos das lesões por pressão em Unidades de Terapia Intensiva (UTI). Examina o impacto dessas lesões no bem-estar dos pacientes, nas dinâmicas familiares e sociais, bem como nas implicações financeiras para o sistema de saúde. Este estudo destaca a importância de compreender e abordar estas questões para melhorar a qualidade do cuidado e a eficiência dos recursos de saúde. Objetivo: Analisar a literatura existente sobre as consequências sociais e econômicas das lesões por pressão em UTIs, enfocando nas estratégias de prevenção, tratamento, e nas implicações para a prática clínica e políticas de saúde. Metodologia: A revisão narrativa foi realizada em setembro de 2023, seguindo um processo estruturado em várias etapas e utilizando a estratégia PICo para explorar população, intervenção, comparação e resultados. Foram feitas buscas em diversas bases de dados, incluindo PubMed, Scopus, e Web of Science, com descritores como “Lesões por Pressão”, “Unidade de terapia intensiva”, “Avaliação de Custo-Efetividade”. A seleção dos estudos baseou-se em sua relevância e a análise centrou-se na avaliação dos impactos, práticas de prevenção, e implicações clínicas e econômicas. Resultados e Discussão: A revisão revelou impactos sociais e econômicos significativos das lesões por pressão em UTIs. Custos diretos e indiretos associados ao tratamento destas lesões impactam os orçamentos de saúde. Socialmente, elas prejudicam a qualidade de vida dos pacientes, causando isolamento e estresse. As estratégias de prevenção e manejo mostraram eficácia variável, sugerindo a necessidade de métodos integrados e baseados em evidências, além da formação contínua de profissionais de saúde. Conclusão: A revisão demonstra que as lesões por pressão em UTIs representam um desafio significativo, tanto do ponto de vista social quanto econômico. Estratégias de prevenção eficazes, políticas de saúde bem fundamentadas e a incorporação de inovações tecnológicas são essenciais para mitigar esses impactos e melhorar os resultados para os pacientes.
