Abstract

Durante períodos de seca, a atmosfera e as áreas urbanas acumulam poluentes, os quais são transportados pelas primeiras chuvas, resultando em problemas como eutrofização e impactos na fauna e flora aquáticas, além de riscos para a saúde humana. Para atenuar esses impactos, os telhados verdes são considerados uma solução baseada na natureza. Este estudo analisa como os telhados verdes podem influenciar as características das primeiras águas pluviais, destacando-se como medida promissora para a saúde coletiva em ambientes urbanos. A pesquisa bibliográfica de 2021 a 2023 revela que a escolha cuidadosa de plantas e substratos é crucial para otimizar o desempenho dos telhados verdes. Apesar de divergências na eficácia relatada na qualidade da água da chuva, os telhados verdes mostram capacidade de retenção de água e remoção de poluentes. No entanto, desafios financeiros, técnicos e práticos são apontados, ressaltando a importância de considerações específicas para cada projeto. Apesar dos benefícios ambientais e urbanos, há necessidade de estudos mais detalhados, especialmente em condições de campo e a longo prazo, destacando a complexidade do tema e a importância de uma abordagem integrada para entender o impacto dos telhados verdes na qualidade da água e na saúde coletiva.
